Spring is just around the corner, and with it comes a new wave of fashion trends to embrace. One of the most exciting trends for the upcoming season is bold prints. From animal prints to florals, mixing and matching patterns is the hottest trend this year. However, that can be a bit intimidating. Especially if you’re someone who doesn’t usually play around with different styles or outfits. So if you want to learn how to mix and match bold prints like a pro, then keep on reading. 

Animal Prints

While we would never promote wearing fur or leather clothing, we do have a soft spot for animal print! However, there is a fine line between looking like a fashion icon and Carole Baskin (remember her?). Animal prints have been a fashion staple for years, however, not just any type of print will do the trick. 

The biggest animal prints you will be seeing this season are leopard and zebra. They have been a fashion staple for years, and they would work great for pretty much any occasion. However, you have to be careful when mixing them. If you want to mix different animal prints, make sure that they are in a similar color scheme, and balanced out with the rest of your outfit. Don’t overdo it, because it could make you look cheap. 

Florals

Florals for spring? Groundbreaking. However, let’s face it — floral prints will forever be a spring staple. And I couldn’t be happier about it. There is nothing that makes me feel more feminine and pretty than a floral sundress. And if you ask me, the more flowers, the better.

Mixing and matching floral prints isn’t nearly as intimidating as it is with animal prints. They usually pair well and you can find them in similar color tones. However, floral prints also pair amazingly with other prints such as stripes or polka dots. 

Stripes

Stripes have been in style for years, but we will be seeing even more of this print during the upcoming spring and summer seasons! The white and blue marine stripe look is making a huge comeback. And stripes are probably the easiest print to mix and match. But if you want to keep things trendy and simple, combine clothing items with stripes of different sizes, colors, and widths.

Polka Dots

Polka dots are a fun and playful print that can add a touch of nostalgia and carefree charm to any look. And there are so many options to choose from. If you’re someone who likes to keep things simple, then opt for something with small and delicate polka dots. However, if you enjoy bold and brave looks, then oversized polka dots will be the way to go. You can also mix and match different-sized polka dots to create a unique and playful look. 

Tropical Prints

If you’re looking for a print to complete your spring break look, then opt for something tropical like palm trees, coconuts, flamingos, or seashells. Tropical prints are a bold and vibrant addition to any vacation outfit, and it’s not too hard to mix and match them either.

Just like with flower prints, they will work great with stripes and polka dots. However, if you want to be especially bold and stand out with your outfit, consider mixing tropical and animal prints. Find something in a similar color scheme, and let your inner exotic animal shine through.
