DIY Beauty: Natural Beauty Products That Actually Work

Using organic and natural beauty products has become more and more popular the in recent years. Many people are searching for safer options as they become more conscious of the hazardous chemicals that are frequently present in conventional beauty products. Being in charge of what goes on your skin and saving money are just two of the wonderful reasons to try DIY beauty. However, not every homemade beauty product will work — so here’s our list of DIY natural beauty products that are worth trying out.

Face Masks

I love using face masks. They are such an amazing skincare treat and a way to pamper yourself. However, most of them are also highly overpriced. So if you want to save some money, but still take care of your skin, then try out these two DIY options.

Honey and Lemon Face Mask: This face mask is great for hyperpigmentation and acne scars. Mix together 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Apply the mixture to your face and let it sit for a maximum of 15 minutes before rinsing it off.

Avocado and Oatmeal Face Mask: Avocado is moisturizing, while oatmeal is great for exfoliating the skin. Mash together 1 ripe avocado and 1 tablespoon of oatmeal. Apply the mixture to your face and let it sit for 20 minutes before rinsing off with warm water.

Body Scrubs

Body scrubs are an amazing way to exfoliate your skin, however, there is no reason to pay a lot of money for them. They are so easy to make at home. And you probably already have all of the ingredients at home. Here are some of our favorites.

Coconut Oil and Brown Sugar Scrub: Mix together 1 cup of brown sugar and ½ cup of coconut oil. Apply the mixture to your skin and gently massage in circular motions. Rinse off with warm water.

Coffee Grounds and Olive Oil Scrub: Coffee grounds are great for exfoliating the skin, while olive oil is rich in antioxidants. Mix together ½ cup of coffee grounds and ¼ cup of olive oil. Apply the mixture to your skin and massage in circular motions. Rinse off with warm water.

Hair Treatments

Last but not least — hair treatments. Because your hair needs some love too. There are plenty of at-home hair treatments to choose from, but here are the most popular ones.

Coconut Oil Hair Mask: We have already talked numerous times about how great coconut oil for the hair is. So it’s no wonder that a coconut oil hair mask is on top of our list. Warm up ¼ cup of coconut oil in the microwave and apply it to your hair, starting at the roots and working your way down to the ends. Leave the mask on for 30 minutes before washing it out with shampoo.

Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse: Apple cider vinegar is great for removing product buildup and restoring the pH balance of the scalp. Mix together 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and 1 cup of water. After shampooing and conditioning your hair, pour the mixture over your hair and rinse it out with water.
