Lazy Girl Skincare: Minimal Effort, Maximum Glow

I love skincare, however, there are still days when I simply don’t care. I don’t have the energy, time, or motivation to do an excessive 10-step routine, and I just want to get over with it. And that’s okay. It doesn’t always have to be complicated to be effective. Sometimes just cleansing your skin and applying moisturizer can be more than enough. That’s why I created a lazy girl skincare routine, for the days when taking care of my skin feels more like a chore than a wellness ritual.

Skip the Serums and Use a Multi-Purpose Moisturizer

Serums can be a great addition to any skincare routine, however, sometimes you just want to skip them. Having to deal with the annoying dropper or added steps can get a bit overwhelming on certain days. That’s why I always have a multi-purpose moisturizer in my collection. Now, these multi-purpose moisturizers can be a true lifesaver on your lazy days. You can even find some with added SPF and use the as your single-step skincare routine on your busy mornings. Just cleanse with water, apply your moisturizer, and you’re good to go. To get the maximum glow, look for a moisturizer that contains ingredients like hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, and glycerin to hydrate, brighten, and protect your skin.

Double Cleanse with Micellar Water

You probably already know how important it is to double cleanse at night. However, let’s keep it real – double cleansing with an oil-based cleanser can get pretty messy and time-consuming. So whenever you’re feeling lazy, or you just don’t have the motivation to do an excessive cleansing routine, stick to micellar water. It will do an amazing job when it comes to getting off your makeup and sunscreen, while also being quick and easy.

If You Just Want One Additional Step – Choose Retinol

If you just have the motivation for one additional step in your skincare routine, besides cleanser and moisturizer, then opt for a vitamin A derivative. Of course, I’m talking about your nighttime skincare routine. The one product that makes the biggest difference in my skin, is, without a doubt, my retinol. It works in many different ways, from exfoliating the skin to boosting collagen production. You can target many different skincare concerns by just using a retinol cream, from acne to the first signs of aging. But because retinol can be so drying, you have to make sure that you follow it up with a generous amount of moisturizer.

Let’s admit it – all of us are lazy girls from time to time. And there’s no shame in that. Life can be tough, and sometimes we just have bigger priorities than our skin. However, even lazy girls can achieve maximum glow with minimal effort. All you have to do is stick to the right products. While elaborate skincare routines can be a great way to unwind after a stressful day and have some time to ourselves, they are in no way a necessity. But no matter how unmotivated, tired, or lazy you feel – make sure you’re cleansing and wearing sunscreen on a daily basis.
