The Art Of Empowering: Manicure Ideas For International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day is on March 8, and it’s time that we finally give it the recognition that it deserves. I have always celebrated this holiday in some way because it can be considered a pretty big thing in most European countries. But especially the Balkan region. We buy flowers or small gifts for the women that mean the most to us — like our mothers, sisters, aunts, grandmothers, or teachers. I would also always receive gifts myself, like from my father, brother, or boyfriend. It was just a beautiful way to celebrate the women in your life. However, we can honor this holiday in other ways as well. For example, with a special manicure for International Women’s Day. If you still need some inspiration, here are my favorite nail ideas.
If you want something simple but also straight to the point for your manicure for International Women’s Day, then opt for a manicure decorated with female symbols. The female symbol is the symbol of the Roman goddess Venus, and you probably saw it in at least one of your biology classes back in high school.
To get this look, start with the base color of your choice. My two favorite options for this look are pink or beige. Pink combined with red symbols will look feminine and cute, while a beige base color will make the symbol and other details pop. Then go straight to the point, and draw a circle with a “T” underneath. You can also add other decorations such as gems or crystals.
If you want something more trendy and straightforward, then opt for symbols such as fists, and GRL PWR. This will be a bit trickier to recreate, so if you aren’t particularly skilled in nail art, then you could ask a professional to do this for you, or simply buy some fun stickers on Amazon.
You can be pretty creative with this concept as well. It’s up to you what look you should go for. You can be a minimalist and choose a white base color with black and red details, or you can go all out with a brighter color palette. You can also add details such as fun glitter accent nails.
Silhouettes of women
While this sounds incredibly complicated, it does not have to be. Because it’s another manicure idea that can easily be recreated with the help of nail stickers. If you get your nails done professionally, you can ask for nail art. If your nail tech is super skilled, you can ask for portraits of strong and inspiring women such as Rosa Parks, Maya Angelou, or Frida Kahlo.
You can also add the names of the women you have chosen on the other nails. The whole idea for this look is that your nails are eye-catching and a conversation starter. Have as much fun with it as you can. But to balance things out a little bit try to leave at least two fingers on each hand just painted with the base color of your choice.
