Makeup Trends Worth Trying Out In 2023

It’s no secret that 2022 was the year of minimal makeup. Clean skin, tinted SPF, lip oils, natural brows, and cream products were all the rage. It was all about looking youthful, healthy, dewy, and fresh. You didn’t have to worry about contouring, eyeliner, matte lipsticks drying out your lips or if your face makeup always looked perfectly matte. I honestly enjoyed the new makeup trends so far, and there are a lot of upcoming trends that I am excited about. So let’s see what 2023 has to offer in terms of upcoming makeup trends.

Colorful Mattes

Mattes are back, but thankfully not in the form of liquid lipsticks. Now, it’s time to bring out the colorful matte eyeshadow pallets that you haven’t used since 2017. One color, bright, eyeshadow looks will be one of the biggest makeup trends for 2023. Bright orange, lime green, hot pink, or royal blue are just some of the colors that will be seen on everyone’s eyelids. If this is a bit too bold for your liking, you can just add a small dot of colorful eyeshadow to the inner corners of your eyes.

Draped Blush

Everyone became absolutely obsessed with blush in 2022, and this trend is going to continue throughout 2023. If your cheeks don’t look like you’re having an allergic reaction, then you are doing something wrong. Blush draping is a cheek contouring technique that was popular in the 70s, and it will rule the runways and makeup editorials in 2023 as well. For this look, you have to ditch your bronzer and contouring powders and use lots of blush instead. Apply your blush in a “C” shape, starting from the temple of your face and down toward the cheekbones. Then apply a light layer to the outer edges of your brows as well.

Glitter Eyeliner

Glitter has already been popular in 2022, but 2023 will be all about glitter eyeliner. And no, this won’t be only a look that you can rock for your Halloween and Christmas makeup looks. Glitter eyeliner is a great way to add a pop of color and sparkle to your otherwise natural and minimal makeup looks. You can also use glitter eyeliner to carve out your regular back eyeliner cat eye look, to add a little bit of a futuristic touch to it.

Inner Eye Corner Accent

We have already mentioned that a bright eyeshadow color in the inner corners of the eyes will be a huge trend, however, that’s not where it ends when it comes to the inner eye corner accents. If you want to keep your look simple, but you still want to add something playful to it, then these accent looks will be your go-to. You can add gems, glitter eyeshadow, highlighter, eyeliner, or whatever you may like.
