7 Wardrobe Essentials We Will Be Wearing All Fall
Fall fashion is something special. You can play with layering, different colors, patterns, and materials. However, preparing your wardrobe for fall can also feel a little bit overwhelming. There are so many wardrobe essentials to choose from: jackets, sweaters, dresses, jeans, boots, and more. But you don’t have to go into debt just to be stylish this fall. All you really need are a few basic items that you can combine for the whole season.
How could we write an article about fall fashion without including blazers? I personally live in blazers during the whole fall season. They are not only great for work, but for date nights as well. You can even wear your oversized black blazers as dresses. Just combine them with some tights and over-the-knee boots. If you want to add a bit more structure, try adding a belt on top.
White Button-Down Shirt
A crisp white shirt will never go out of style. That’s why this is a wardrobe essential for basically every season, and not just fall. You can combine it with jeans, skirts, or wear it over dresses. There aren’t many occasions that a white button-down wouldn’t be appropriate for. But make sure you invest in a high-quality cotton shirt, as you will be able to wear it for years.
Vegan Leather Boots
Nothing will elevate your look as much as a good pair of boots. Combat boots are still the biggest hit, and they can be combined with basically anything. They look amazing with jeans, but they also pair well with dresses and skirts.
What would fall be without the mandatory knitted cardigan? Nothing is so easy to throw on as a soft, oversized cardigan is. It’s a great layering piece, and it won’t only make you look stylish, but keep you warm as well. Look for something with statement buttons and a neutral color. Style it with a pair of straight jeans and sneakers for a trendy daytime look, or wear it over a dress to keep you warm on your nights out.
Pleated skirts are a great transition item. You can wear them on those warmer fall days with a shirt and flats, but you can also pair them with boots and a sweater when the temperatures start to go down.
Belted Trench Coat
How could any fall wardrobe be complete without a belted trench coat? This could lift any look, and make you look like a fashionista even when you aren’t trying at all. Oversized trench coats are a huge trend right now, and you can find them in many different styles and colors. However, our favorite is still the classic cream trench coat with dark brown buttons.
A good pair of straight-leg denim jeans paired with a white button-down will definitely be our fall uniform. You can dress this outfit up with a pair of heels and a blazer, or dress it down with sneakers and a knitted cardigan. Straight jeans flatter most body types, and they are pretty comfortable to wear as well.
