Five Beauty Products TikTok Made Me Buy That Are Totally Worth The Hype

Yes, I am one of those millennials that decided to install TikTok back in quarantine. At first, I thought that it was a bit silly and pointless. And then, all of my beauty purchases started to be influenced by this social media platform. It seems as if every day there is a new product trending on TikTok. While some of the things I bought didn’t work for me at all, five completely changed my beauty routine.

Velcro rollers

Not to sound dramatic, but if there is one thing that completely transformed my hair, it’s velcro rollers. I always had flat hair with basically no volume. No matter what products I would use, nothing would give any lasting lift to my roots. But then the whole velcro roller trend became a thing on TikTok and I wanted to try it out myself. My hair seriously never looked better, and they are also so surprisingly versatile. You can use bigger rollers to achieve that blowout look, or smaller rollers with a curling barrel to make your curls last much longer.

Brow glue

If you wanted to try out brow laminating, but you don’t want to pay so much for something that only lasts 2-3 weeks, then definitely try out brow glues. The one I use is by Got2B, but there are plenty of others out there as well. Brow glues will lift the hairs of your brows, and keep that style for the whole day. Even though I have pretty thin brow hairs, it was always hard for me to work with them. Now, I just brush them up and fill in the gaps with a thin brow pencil. It’s easy, fast, and gives you a natural and fluffy result.

Lip oils

I always love the way that lipgloss looks, but hate the way it feels. Sticky, heavy, and don’t get me started on how your hair gets stuck in it. But then, thanks to TikTok, I discovered lip oils. The end results are pretty much the same as with lipgloss. You end up with shiny and juicy lips, that look more voluminous. But you have some added benefits. First of all, the formula is thinner and doesn’t feel sticky at all. And in addition to that, lip oils are also created to nourish your lips. So besides looking great, they also have that added care benefit.

Liquid blush

I always felt as if powder blush was way too heavy for my skin. No matter how I applied it, it brought out the texture on my cheeks. That’s why I avoided using it. And then, liquid blush became a huge trend on social media, so I decided to give it a try. Let me tell you, if you have dry skin and you feel like most powder products for the complexion don’t really work for you, give this trend a try. It gives a natural finish, you have much better control over the intensity, and it’s so easy to blend out.

SPF setting sprays

To be honest, setting spray was always such an underwhelming part of my makeup routine. For sure, I will use them. But what difference do I really see? However, once I started to use a setting spray with added SPF, or even spray SPFs as my setting spray, I could see a noticeable difference. Sunscreens, at least chemical sunscreens, work by forming a layer on your face that reflects light. That’s why your skin is so dewy after applying them. So a setting spray with added sun protection gave me the natural, and glowing finish that I always desired.
