Travel Essentials 101: Beauty Products You Must Carry While Traveling

Do you struggle with choosing what to take while traveling and what to leave behind? Me, too!

We all want to look our best when we visit new places and meet new people. So, it’s a sad thing that we can’t travel with our complete vanity.

Still, looking fresh after many stressful, sleep-deprived hours of traveling is one of our deepest wishes. Lucky for you, we have narrowed down a list of beauty essentials to help you pack! Below are some skincare and makeup products that you must carry to look your best while traveling.

1. Skincare Necessities

Traveling can be stressful, and the changing climates take a toll on the best of faces. Carrying travel-sized multi-tasking cleansers, face and body moisturizers, and sunscreen is always a good idea as they don’t take up a lot of space. These 3 basic products will make sure that your skin is well hydrated and protected.

Keep in a few sheet marks for some instant hydration for days you’re your skin needs some pick-me-up. Pamper yourself with all those serums and toners once you return!

2. Face Products

While we are tempted to go full glam, a light no-makeup-makeup look is more suitable while traveling. It gets done faster, you don’t need as many products, it always looks fresh, and it does not require any touchups. What more do you need?

A tinted moisturizer or light to medium coverage foundation works best when on the go. Concealers are life-savers. You can skip on the foundation but not on this.

For a naturally flushed and fresh look, tints are really long-lasting. They can also double up as a lip product! An all-in-one face palette is also a smart option to carry to have face powder, bronzer, blush, and highlighter in one medium-sized palette.

3. Eye Products

Repeat after me: I do not need to travel with the collection of multiple eye palates that I have at home.

Full glammed eye looks are a waste of time when traveling, especially if you do not have any formal occasion scheduled. A bit of mascara does the job of opening up your eyes and you can always add a bit of bronzer on your eyelids to give definition. However, if you really want some color, you may opt for a small, neutral-colored eye palette. Definitely, leave those popping neons at home!

4. Lip Products

A lip balm is the first thing you need. Without lip balm, with air-coolers everywhere, your lips might suffer from a nightmare.

When it comes to lipsticks you don’t need a lot of them either. A few go-to light/nude shades work really well when you need a fresh look. And a bright pink or a deep red if you’re into those shades.

In short, carry only 2-4 lipsticks in the shades of your choice. Not more than that. (We know you’ll end up using the top 2 favorites.)

5. Makeup Tools

Figuring which makeup tool is worth the weight can be a confusing task.

A soft beauty sponge and a few multipurpose makeup brushes that can be used to apply more than one type of product are both time and space-saving.

Always keep a spoolie and tweezers to keep those eyebrows in check though! Makeup wipes may not be the first choice for makeup removal but they do the job of fixing and cleaning while traveling.

Bon voyage!
