Spring is now here to transition us to warmer weather. With warmer weather comes the opportunity to wear our sandals and flip flops again. But our feet may not be not ready to be seen yet with the same softness and brightness as last summer. In winter, they get used to hiding in socks and can become dull. And now we know that you don’t have enough time to reach out to the most expensive salon to get your pedicure done before it is too late. Don’t worry! You can give yourself a pedicure at home in the most easy and affordable way. Let’s say goodbye to cracked heels and learn to take care of our own feet this spring and summer.
First of all, take a cotton pad, get it wet with nail polish remover, and then rub it onto your toenails to remove all the left over nail polish. Try to use those nail polish removers which will fight against even the most stubborn nail paint.
Add Epsom salt in lukewarm water and soak your feet in it for a minimum of 5 minutes and a maximum of 10 minutes. This will make all the cracked skin weaken so you can easily get rid of it by rubbing a foot scrub. Apply cuticle oil to push back the cuticles easily with the help of a stick.
Don’t worry about the sharp edges and corners of your nails after trimming them short. You can make them soft and smooth with a nail file. Use it back and forth on the edges of nails.
Now, it’s time to give yourself and your feet a sense of relaxation by massaging your feet. Do this by applying foot cream or any moisturizer you like the most that will keep your feet moisturized for a long period of time.
Okay, after going through all the above-mentioned steps, dry your feet completely and apply the base coat to your nails first. It is very important to apply a base coat first so that your nail oil and main nail paint do not get mixed up.
When you see that your base coat is completely dry, then go for your fav nail polish color and apply it on your nails with utmost care. After the first layer, apply the second layer. Two coats of polish should be more than enough. Have less polish on the brush for better results.
Let your nail polish dry and after exactly 20 minutes, apply the tiny final layer of top coat to make sure that your pedicure lasts long without any premature chipping. Now you are ready to wear your favorite sandals this summer season.
